Wildfire in the Issaquah Alps

  • Senator Bill Ramos Memorial Trailhead Senator Bill Ramos Memorial Trailhead, 661 E Sunset Way Issaquah, WA, 98027 United States (map)

Come hike with local forest stewardship and fire agency staff to the site of the Lake Tradition Fire that burned nearly 2 acres of City of Issaquah-managed forestland in August 2025. On this hike you’ll learn how you can help protect your community from wildfires, how fire interacts with and impacts our local forests, and how forest health planning efforts can also help reduce wildfire risks.

This hike will be co-led by Dan Hintz, Urban Forest Supervisor from the City of Issaquah, Cat Robinson, Emergency Coordinator - Wildfire Mitigation from Eastside Fire & Rescue, and Mike Lasecki Stewardship Forester & Wildfire Mitigation Specialist from King County’s Department of Natural Resources and Parks. See the map for the trail route and photos of the fire site to the right.
