Join the Issaquah Alps Trails Club and King County Parks as we continue restoration efforts at Big Tree Ridge Trailhead. Last year, we repopulated conifers in an alder-maple forest, adding 150 shade-tolerant trees such as western redcedar, Douglas-fir, grand fir, Sitka spruce, and western white pine. For this restoration event, we’ll be removing invasive species, primarily ivy and blackberry bushes, to protect the forest and clear space to plant new trees in the spring.
This event will be led by IATC Board Member Ellie Place and IATC Program and Volunteer Coordinator Kira Telgen. To learn more about the history of the site and the hard work of our volunteers, check out our Big Tree Ridge Trailhead page.
