Join IATC Vice President Selena Eon for an afternoon hike on Squak Mountain to celebrate all of the hard work volunteer crews have put in to restore these trails in the wake of the 2024 bomb cyclone.
Throughout 2025, over 130 IATC volunteers worked to remove debris and restore tread to trails on Squak over the course of 25 work parties. Learn more about the work done on Squak Mountain in Selena’s November 2025 article for the Alpiner here: Rising After the Storm: Rebuilding Squak Mountain.
We’ll meet at Mountainside Drive Trailhead (also known as Bullitt Fireplace Trailhead) and work our way up to Old Griz, where a substantial portion of the 2025 trail work took place. We’ll also view the landslide sites on Phil’s Creek before heading down the Eastside Trail back to the trailhead.
