November 4 General Election

As part of our advocacy work, the Issaquah Alps Trails Club (IATC) is committed to elevating the voice of conservation in civic life. Earlier this year in May, we hosted the King County Executive Candidate Forum to spotlight the environmental and rural issues critical to East King County, especially our surrounding forests and public lands like Tiger Mountain. Events like this ensure candidates understand how decisions made at every level of government affect the future of our trails, open spaces, and outdoor access.

As the General Election approaches, two important races will shape the future of Issaquah and the surrounding region:

Issaquah Mayoral Race

  • Mark Mullet, Former State Senator

  • Lindsey Walsh, Issaquah City Council President

Legislative District 5 (LD 5) State Senate Race

  • Victoria Hunt (Incumbent), Appointed State Senator and former State Representative

  • Chad Magendanz, Former State Representative

Why These Races Matter

  • The Mayor will guide Issaquah’s growth, housing, transportation, and open space conservation.

  • The LD 5 State Senator will decide on policies affecting forest management, wildfire prevention, outdoor recreation funding, and conservation, all of which are critical to protecting Tiger Mountain, Cougar Mountain, and the Issaquah Alps region.

November 4, 2025: General Election Day — Your Vote Matters

  • Mail-in ballots will be mailed to all registered voters around October 17, 2025.

  • Completed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 4. Postmarks do not count, so be sure to return your ballot early or drop it off at an official ballot drop box. Drop boxes are conveniently located throughout the state for secure returns.

  • If you need to register or update your voter information, the deadline is October 27, 2025. You can register online, by mail, or in person.

Your vote shapes the future we want, one where public lands are protected, trails remain accessible, and natural spaces stay central to our community’s identity. Take time to explore each candidate’s positions and make an informed choice.

Thank you for supporting conservation and civic engagement in the Issaquah Alps.

Best,
Kim Ngo
