Much of this hillside above Newport Way would be cleared for a long road, retaining walls, storm water vaults and home sites. We are working hard with the citizen group Save Cougar Mountain along with the City of Issaquah, King County and the Trust for Public Land.

The efforts to save Cougar Mountain’s DeLeo Wall from logging continues.

Legal appeals, government, and institutional reviews are ongoing.

Public and private negotiations are occurring.

The ultimate goal is to create a public-private partnership to purchase the property as permanent open space.

The SaveDeLeoWall.org is a great website for the latest details and beautiful pictures, but with one picture not of the wall, but not too far from representing the proposed logging.
