Hike local trails and learn the story of east Cougar Mtn. and how the Talus “urban village” coexists within a landscape of forest and wildlife habitat. Starting within the Talus neighborhood, you will hike into the adjacent parkland for about 3 miles and return to Talus at the two water towers at the top and a spectacular view to the east. Stay and hear about future plans for Squak and Tiger Mtns. and beyond. After watching the full moon rise, return to your car or neighborhood home via city sidewalks.

Bring a flashlight or head lamp, but we hope not to need it. It the event of poor weather we will do an abbreviated hike and exit the woods with plenty of daylight.

Starting point: Meet at the street parking area on Foothills Drive NW near the large concrete water tower and the intersection of Shangri La Way NW and NW Stoney Creek Drive.
