BRING/WEAR: water, food, daypack, rain-gear, warm clothes, hiking shoes
No dogs (UNLESS the hike is specified as 'dogs welcome')
IATC ENCOURAGES CARPOOLING AND
RECOMMENDS $.15/MILE GAS, MINIMUM OF $1.00, CONTRIBUTION TO THE DRIVER

Mercer Slough Nature Park
Take a virtual trip from mountains to sound and explore the long and dynamic geologic history of the I-90 corridor. Geologist Rob Viens will present and discuss the geologic history of the region as it is expressed in the trails and parks along the Mountains to Sound Greenbelt, including MercerSlough, Cougar Mt, TigerMt, Mt. Si and Snoqualmie pass.

Hike Classifications

* Each hike has a number and letter designation. Numbers indicate hiking time and letters indicate elevation gain.

Hiking Time

Class 1: 2 hours
Class 2: 4 hours
Class 3: 6 hours
Class 4: 8 hours

These are approximate hiking times and do not include travel time to and from the trailhead.

Elevation Gain

A: Little or no elevation gain, up to 500 feet.

B: Some climbing, up to 1,200 feet, or some other difficulty.

C: More climbing, up to 2,500 feet, or some other difficulty.

D: Much climbing, over 2,500 feet of elevation gain.

This is an estimate of elevation gain.
