COME JOIN THE CITY OF ISSAQUAH FOR IT’S SECOND ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY FAIR!

The City of Issaquah’s Sustainability Fair is back for a second year and promises to be bigger and even more interactive!  This year’s theme is Waste Less, Smile More!

The Fair is sure to inspire, educate, and engage you in climate and sustainability initiatives!

Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Place: Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. NW Issaquah, WA 98027

Below is a sampling of what is in store

  • Community Art Project

    • Artist Carrie Ziegler is working with students from Gibson Ek and Issaquah High Schools. More to come on how you can be a part of the art!

  • Touch-a-Truck

    • Talk with our Public Works staff about how they prevent yucky items from going into our storm drains and hurting fish and our waterways. Step into a truck and honk the horn!

  • Mini-field trip to a salmon restoration site

    • Learn about local efforts to help our beloved fish

  • Clothing swap

    • Bring your lightly used, clean clothing and dig through a selection to take home a new wardrobe

  • Sustainable vendors

    • We will have produce, flowers, honey, yummy sweets and ice cream. Vendors will also have a variety of eco-made products

  • Live demos

    • Including on waste reduction and safer alternatives to hazardous cleaning products

  • Recycle your used batteries and lightbulbs 

    • Recology will collect household batteries and fluorescent tubes and bulbs from Issaquah residents. See what is accepted here.

  • Check out electric vehicles

    • Evergreen Chevrolet will have electric vehicles on display! Take a look, sit in the driver’s seat, and schedule your test drive.

  • Visit with local nonprofit and governmental organizations

    • Learn about resources for sustainability and how to take action in your daily lives

  • Learn about the Snoqualmie Tribe’s Ancestral Lands Movement and restoration efforts.

  • Sign up for local outdoor opportunities 

    • Including the Green Issaquah program

  • Collect "passport" stamps from browsing areas of the Fair
